I thought Paul Simon's version of "Surfer Girl" was wonderful, except for the ending, which sounded like he made it up on the spot. I agree that the Go-Go's sucked, as they always have, and didn't deserve to share the same stage with the likes of Elton, Billy Joel, and Crosby. Wilson-Phillips was painful to listen to, too. Stage band was absolutely fantastic. Wish "Good Vibrations" could have lasted a few more minutes.

I have to agree with you re Vince Gill. After hearing him sing some mediocre country pap, I went out and bought
a CD. It was so poorly produced, i.e,targeted for the country boom box market, that I decided that I'd just sort of ignore this man with the voice of an angel's work until he hooked up with a company that was interested in producing a quality product that showcased his abilities, rather that putting out more crap for the Bubba market.

Pete, It has already been mentioned, but I thought I'd say it again. I also think Vince Gill has a terrific voice for an instrument. But the material he sings is not nearly as inspired as something written by Brian Wilson. I feel the same way about K.D. Lang. Terrific range and phrasing wasted on mostly crappy songs.
