Tony, <<<. WHATEVER the Intel content is inside servers, it's thousands of time greater than any AMD content. >>>

I don't want to beat a subject to death, but I would like to know how much Intel gets for each server with Intel inside.

I accept the fact that Intel may not get more than $250 to $500 on a 1-way or 2-way $5000 server, that a server has a lot more in it than Intel inside, and that low end servers make up the vast majority of the server market.

But the mid range and high end server is also quite big - more so when expressed in total dollars rather than in units. However, I believe Intel inside does a lot better in these markets when it comes to ASP and margins; and will do considerably better when Itanium comes to market.

What I would like to know is how much is this market worth to Intel going forward. What I am getting however is a lot of bs. To be fair, however, I don't think there is a lot of expertise on this subject - anywhere - including the analyst community.

I am sorry for being so repetitive. I won't comment anymore on this subject.

Mary

WRT AMD earnings - I keep insisting that this is not a zero sum game. What is good for Intel is also good for AMD and to a lesser extent - vice versa.
