"they have been claiming all year that they were gaining market share, only to admit now that Intel is getting some back"

When did they do that? If they are claiming they sold more processors in Q2 than any time in the past, and the total number of processors sold in Q2 was less than Q1, then they gained market share. Now admittedly they likely gained most of that share in the under $1500 machines, but gained it they did. And this is despite the hardest pressure Intel could put on them without losing money hand over fist.

Re: they have been claiming all year that they were gaining market share, only to admit now that Intel is getting some back.

They had their best unit quarter ever - and for this coming quarter they are moving into mobile again surprisingly quickly, and even dabbling in SMP.

AMD is continuing to gain market share, despite Intel's doing everything they can to try to slow them down.

AMD is also showing the full cost of its capex as depreciation on its income statement - so it can keep going at the present rate indefinitely, even if it reports near zero earnings.

Intel is spending $1.5 Billion more per quarter than they are willing to recognize as costs on their income statement - something that will finish them as a going concern if they keep it up for too many more quarters.

I too am glad you didn't move the price up...in fact, I think I suggested moving it down.

I should have. It executed and the price is now below what I paid. You originally suggested moving it down right before AMD made a big move up, but since then it has more then reversed its progress.
