52 week lows on CIEN and JNPR are not a sign of strength.

I would separate Ciena and JNPR from other tech stocks. Ciena still looks pretty bad even though they are making money and have a PE a lot lower than the 100 we were used to.
The problem is..will anyone believe their estimates for later in the year and 2002.
Not a chance! (imho)
Expecting them to lower the numbers and possibly get around to forecasting losses instead of profits.
The Nortel and Lucents are cutting jobs and that means they will take new orders just to break even as a way to keep their highly skilled work forces.

I agree that Ciena and JNPR can still go lower.

I am a lot more hopeful on software and computer industry just because of the upcoming cycle on PC upgrades. At least in this sector, there is reason for optimism. In telecom equipment or optical....there does not appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel.

>>HOMS and ROOM making new highs or at the top of ranges. This should tell everyone that there just is too much gambling going on>>

Wonder what would happen if each analyst was forced to buy his own pick either minutes before or after his report goes out and sell it only after he advises everyone else to sell it.

QQQ stalled today. Which way will it resolve itself? I score MSFT down, CSCO up, INTC ?? reversed up too but it's a tricky thing that I can't trust here. Anyway, bought CSCO today but won't be holding if we break down tomorrow.

Edit: INTC's a valid signal but the range is so wide I'd have to call it that all the way down to about 25 if it occured anyplace within there and that's 4 more points it could drop yet and still be valid... but it would have to twitch like it did today. If INTC breaks today's low the signals nullified until it twitches again.
