Windsock Re..You and your fellow travelers love Arsenic in your drinking water and budget deficits. And of course the deceit of Thief-in-Chief Bush and his crew<<<<<<<<

Arsenic? Since when did GW put arsenic in the drinking water. The arsenic is already there. Besides, you dems control the senate. What is keeping you from passing a stricter arsenic law? Nothing, all you dems are is a bunch of hot air. You talk about what you will do, but when you are in charge you can't do anything, except charm the pants off of women and kill babies.

Forget about those budget surpluses as far as the eye can see; from now on the prospect is for chronic budget shortfalls.<<<<<<

That would be true if the recession develops and the dems keep on spending. After all, it is the congress who controls spending, and the once again the dems in congress are dolling out the pork. Gw has done his job, and reduced taxes to give the economy a stimulus, in order to lessen the threatening recession. Now the dems need to do their part. Don't you guys ever stop wasting taxpayers money.

Of course, administration officials play down the sudden budget deterioration, saying that the surplus will return once the economy recovers. <<<<

The economy very well could recover, once the we get the tax cut, and the economy picks up. Oil prices are down because of new supplies, thanks to GW, CA could solve their immediate energy crisis, when a bunch of new generation units come on line, so the biggest cause of recession, higher energy prices are abating thanks to GW. However, one big stranglehold on the economy, dem. spending with it resultant taxation, and regulations threaten to strangle the country.

Now comes the spinning.<<<<<<<<

Its been here all along. It will just take a new tack as the dems try to blame Gw for their massive overspending. The dems have delayed the massive tax cut, so there hardly will be one. Yet the dems keep spending. Name me one pork barrel project the dems have cancelled, or even attempted to cancel. Not one. Its just spend, spend, spend. Every one knows, when a recession comes, the gov. needs to cut back, just like everyone else. The dems don't have the spine to do it, and the dems will control the senate, when the budget goes into deficit.

The truth is that moderates who voted for that tax cut were snookered. And the nation will spend years paying for the consequences of their gullibility. <<<<<<<

How did that happen. Me nor anyone else has gotten any reduction in taxes yet, and we already are in deficit, according to you. Also, when you get your own money back, what is wrong with that. It is when you lose it to mindless pork projects, which just benfit the people who bribed congress, is when you get snookered. And the tax bracket for the rich has only been lowered to 36%. Besides, the dems. who control the senate, can reverse the tax cut anytime they want; all they have to do is vote for their usual tax increase.

<And the nation will spend years paying for the consequences of their gullibility. <<<<

I assume you are talking about wanting lower taxes makes us gullible. Speak for yourself. You can always volunteer all of you money. I prefer to use mine, myself. Besides, now that you dems control the senate, you can raise taxes to your hearts content. Go ahead, make my day.

How can you make such a statement when Clinton did nothing about it for 8 years? If it was so important why didn't Clinton cut the standard 8 years before. You have no credibility when you use statements like this, unless you can provide some kind of rationale for the argument. Liberalism at work -- say anything, supportable or not.

No sooner had Mr. Bush signed that tax cut into law than those same officials began admitting that the budget outlook wasn't that rosy after all.

I've got news. Until Social Security is required to accrue its unfunded pension liability (like private pension plans are), there will NEVER be a surplus, as Social Security will take all surplus funds. Period.

In the meantime, any time you get a chance to get some of your money back from government you're well-advised to take it, no questions asked.

Unless GW Bush can privatize the liberal's Social Security mess (it is really Clinton's because he did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING toward dealing with the biggest problem facing our nation today), wise people will do all they can to put back money on their own behalves.

SS is the best example of a failed liberal program in modern times.

Windsock, this weekend I read about a recently completed energy study in IBD. Apparently, Californians were taking some heat [no pun intended] unfairly. While CA is second to TX in total energy consumption, its ranks only 48th in terms of consumption per person. So for the dubyas of the world, that means that while CA consume a lot of energy cause its big, it still is a state that is very conservation minded, consuming less energy per person than 47 other states.

Now comb, what's up with TX...its the secoond or third largest state but it consumes the most energy? Is someone pigging out at the trough, or do the Bushes consume that much? <g>
