OK Mr. Worry Wart. Time for bed. You're gonna give yourself an ulcer with all that worrying.

Get some sleep, then wake up and go buy a Greatful Dead CD. Drive to the coast and enjoy the fine weather we have here in California.

What do you mean no despair? This entire world's falling into despair.

Show me 5 days in a row of -1000 tick counts then I will admit despair.
I will be a buyer on despair.
Right now I see grazing sheep and complacent longs, and better yet fearful bears.

I want to see more complacency. Like a week of it on steadily sinking stocks. Then several days of despair will do it for me.

>>To conserve energy so the price is forced back down to foil their plans<<

That is so breathtakingly naive.

I couldn't agree with you more on your political leanings -- while everyone concentrated on Clinton's pecadillos that had no effect on the welfare of this country people, and especially the press, chose to ignore ominous decisions handed down by Mr. Shrub. We need more people like you to fend off cynical thinking by others.

Now about your market thinking, well...

i hate name calling.. but you're such a pussy...er.. wussy?

What do you mean no despair? This entire world's falling into despair. And it's got to do not only with fallen tech earnings but who is running our country without our positive concerns and opinions at heart.

Consumer burning cash, spending lots, I don't see any signs of despair, nor should there be. I've never believed in what is technical recession... all this is media hype on the negatious side. yes, the bubble will hurt, but stocks are everything!

Most people are pessimistic now and for good reason. The more you see through the hype and recognize the facts about the true corruption going on the more despair you feel. We're being lied to and pick-pocketed on a daily basis. Even the tax cuts will just go back into their pockets.

You choose to acknowledge the fact that you're being lied to now... regardless of good/bad times in the economy, there's always lying, duh! - you just choose to realize it now more so than before, because you don't have the carefree joy of overlooking it anymore.

People and corporations alike. But there is hope. To fight back. To conserve energy so the price is forced back down to foil their plans. Then to make it happen ourselves. But it's going to take time.
Yup, and consumers will be forced to conserve... and change their ways too. Nothing lasts forever, and that should not be taken as the cliche everyone deems it to be.

Other than a nice bump from Microsoft 2000 the tech revolution we can't hope for much until the Bush energy boondoggles are stropped in their tracks. Only then can this economy start breathing again. It's worse than the S+L debacle because it comes right out of our pockets and depresses everyone. Let's hope it's put to a stop soon.

You're wrong, Win2K is already passe. The next tech revolution is still an unknown... I think convergence/services will be a big part of it, i further believe that healthcare services and biotech will be another catalyst, as they already have.

again, i hate to play the name game, but you come across as.. um... a whiner?

ever read MorganStanley's Global Economic Forum? Dont' have the link handy, but i think you should... might but some good balance in your perspective ;-)

cheers,
sherwood
