Dan,

You are comparing two entirely different things. I have never denied that AMD's overall cash position increased. What I have said that the reason why AMD's cash position increased was not because of operations (i.e. selling uPs) but because of adding more debt to their capital structure.

Another point,

their cash increased by well over $400 million during the period

Incorrect, AMD's cash adn ST investments (which is a cash equivalent) increased by 302.4M

Therefore, if AMD didn't borrow 320M they would've been net negative.

What am I trying to say? Intel could show increasing cash positions by increasing the amount of leverage (i.e. more debt), but they choose not to do so...

AMD, on the other hand, continues to increase their leverage in order to increase their cash position.

AMD is doing a lot better, so far, in this price war than Intel is

How do you figure that? AMD warned and reduced guidance significantly.... At this point in time, Intel has not.

Personally, a price war affects AMD far greater than Intel since AMD has a greater interest expense than intel....
