No - I don't think so - but anything is possible.

P1262 (0.1 micron) is already an active development program at Intel - as P860 (0.13 micron) was more or less ready to hand off to production quite a while ago.

The Copper Damascene modules are already in place - the 300 MM wafer capability is a reality (although production equipment refinement is still ongoing).

As for need - when Pentium 4/Northwood hits the mobile market early next year, it will consume much more power than the Tualatin.

The 0.1 micron version will then bring Mobile Pentium 4 power consumption down to the 10 watt level - at 1.5 to 2 GHz.

Not bad for a notebook PC - eh?

And, by that time, Intel's Mobile Cell phone products will be rolling in to production - and 0.1 micron processes will give Intel a low power advantage that ought to help with their market penetration of that market.
