Paul: By Mobile, I assume you mean Mobile PC - right?

Yes, I was referring to the completely new mobile, x86 architecture / processor.

This project - often referred to as Banias - is moving along well in Israel.

Same team that did Timna? (sincerely curious)

Hopefully, the administration (of Intel) won't make the engineers' work virtually impossible by requiring it to use some new exotic and expensive memory type...

It should give the AMDroids something to Druel over - in IPC !!!

I hope so! I would very much like to see the "MHz == Performance" Mantra go the way of the dodo.

As for Time Frame, look for a 2003 introduction. This is a totally new architecture and most of 2002 will be spent on verification.

So similar time frame as mobile P4? (ermm.. the "real" mobile P4... the .10&#181 one).

What do you expect the absolute performance of "Banias" to be like?

Thanks,

fyo
