The one simple fact that supports your argument is that this "energy crisis" has somehow improved miraculously since the Democrats took over the Senate majority. We have not had one single blackout since Jeffords defected the Republican Party and we have had multiple 100 + days all over this golden state.

The situation improved when the energy companies had to look at the possibility of Senate hearing probes.

Hardly a coincidence.

All the guilty here are Bush inner circle cronies. One company Desyngy (sp?) run by James Baker. Davis is absolutely right except the real ripoff figure including natural gas is much higher. The natural gas and gasoline gouging are two oher huge issues which effect everyone in the world. You have all paid. Now it's time to make Bush-Cheney and cronies pay. As a democracy we can do it if we all stand together and stop the dishonesty and cover-up. Get rid of soft money, get rid of Bush cronies in congress, support McCain if you're a Republican and expose the biggest illegal theft from consumers in US history. This also by the way probably put Bush in office as the scam scared far more than 1000 people in Florida into voting for him. This is just the beginning of the story and this will be far bigger than Watergate. Yes, maybe even impeachment. Cheney certainly will have to go within a year.

It's highway robbery and it's being either manipulated by or encouraged at the very top. To believe anything less would be to be naive.

When you have Cheney repeatedly announce that energy prices are going to remain high, it's equivelent to using the bully pulpit to signal the industry to keep the prices up. Higher prices helps push those energy plan proposals forward. Negative motivation, i.e., higher prices, is a powerfull motivator.
