He sure acts like a dictator. As far as middle America is concerned, Greenspan is the most powerful man in their lives. He gave the country a shitload of liquidity in the Clinton era, which facilitated the growth of tremendous wealth. Then he took it away by increasing rates too high. Now he's trying to stop the bloodletting that he began and that the drunken masses continued for 5 years. I'd say he's damn near a dictator. I'd love to see his power turned off.
