I question how much of the retailers will get of the rebate check... Most people that I talk to (lower income, say <$30K) say it will go to bills already generated... And come on it's only $300-600 smacks...

The consumer is so tapped and getting worried about the economy I think it will go directly to bills (if they were smart)... IMO

Unless it's already been spent and is sitting on J4P's credit card balance as we speak...after all, the news has been out for a while, and J4P is hardly a model in fiscal restraint.

I spent my extra 10 bucks a week (from the cut)on a movie (without popcorn). Unfortunately, I took my kid to see Cats and Dogs, so with his ticket, I went over budget. Guess I'll have to cut back on something else next week....<G>
