How odd, I was considering another angle Opus. Actually I logged on just to air this.

I believe what Opus-X stated is true (about the DoD requirements, not the psychological evaluation of another poster<g>). If those requirements are correctly presented, and I have no reason to doubt that they are not correct (anyone?), what then does this mean about GX relative to the other, U.S. based carriers? Wouldn't it be necessary for there to exist a competitive screening through which the U.S. based carriers could not score adequately, thus the DoD had no alternative but to use GX ?? Comments?

Yeah, right, that post has consumed me for months.... NOT.... When I saw the DoD contract announcement, it caused a bell to go off in my head, because I had been told quite authoritatively by you that GX had no chance getting government contracts of that sort. It took me only a second to find the related posts (there's this thing called a search engine on SI....). So at least we both agree that you were wrong... I don't buy the fact that there were no other US carriers either willing or able to bid for the contract... quite nice of MartinT to throw you that bone...
