Re: 7/7/01 - [DESI] Defamation defendant settles lawsuit with Designs, Inc.; apologizes to Seymour Holtzman
So the devil ya know.. by: ALLABOUTPROFITS (00/M) 11/07/99 12:55 am Msg: 898 of 1287 is worse than the devil ya don't. Well the shareholders should be paying close attention here. It's been a good 30 days since Seymour has taken control, and still no answer on his strategy. As the #'s for October show Desi is still bleeding, so when will he start to communicate the direction of the company. This company is headed for disaster, just watch. The moral in the stores is the worst it's ever been, not good when your looking at the upcoming holdiay sales, the store managers have no desire to particapate any longer.

I truly hope seymour gains control. by: ALLABOUTPROFITS (00/M) 10/03/99 02:51 pm Msg: 818 of 1287 Two things are certain to happen.
1) BankBoston will demand payment of $20 million which there is not cash on hand to pay, Uncle Seymour will have to write a check from his own savings (yeah right), he doesn't have the financing to pay this note. BankBoston will force Desi into filing for bankruptcy protection; good thing Seymour has experience here. Liquidation will soon follow.
2). Levi's will terminate the licensing agreement immediately. Now Seymour has no merchandise to keep Desi moving forward. So the idiots who wrote that you're supposed to sublease unprofitable locations will be able to witness Seymour's attempt at subleasing 100 locations (yeah right). When Levi's pulls the plug I hope you all don't have a tremendous position in Desi because it will soon become worthless. Please don't criticize me for speaking the truth, if you vote for Seymour which, as a shareholder you have that right, keep in mind that your shares are soon to be worthless. The fantasies that you have about this white knight will soon show his true colors and it's bright red, with size 16 shoes and some makeup and a wig, and if I'm describing a clown, well I guess he must be! This man has no interest outside of his own financial interests! He got in the game when the stock was trading just above $.50, what does he have to lose, not much, he has everything to gain. Levi's will stand behind the current Mgmt at Desi and any change will result in the termination of their agreement.
And the idiot who thinks that retail 20 years ago is the same as today, is either working for Seymour, because they want you to believe being retired for 20 years and getting back in the game today will be like riding a bike ( did they have computers back then?) or your just as stupid as the rest of these idiots. Face the facts, you bought a stock that you thought would maintain the growth pattern it achieved in the mid 90's, but retail is cyclical, the Levi brand isn't the dominate brand it once was, and Desi like all the other retailers who had depended on Levi's is now suffering. Has Desi mgmt made mistakes, I'm sure they did, but they made the choices which they felt would give Desi the best chance of survival, until Levi's cycle returns and the brand is again on top. Without growth any publicly traded company stands to be viewed as negative, driving the stock price down. You all have written about the weakness of the current management, but when will anyone write about what Seymour will bring to Designs? What is his plan? I hope you all need a write off, because this stock is soon to be worthless. I'll now sit back and await your messages, I find them extremely humorous.

on line sales by: ALLABOUTPROFITS (00/M) 11/10/99 07:45 pm Msg: 903 of 1287 For the last time Designs does not have a licencing agreement to sell Levi's over the internet, so please reframe from continuing a discussion that has been beat to death. Don't ya think that Joel has made the attempt. Designs is strickly an outlet operation get used to it or get lost!

===== YOU ALL DESERVE THIS... by: ALLABOUTPROFITS (00/M) 12/01/99 06:25 pm Msg: 928 of 1287 This should not come as any news to any of the shareholders, seymour is out for himself. I expect another month of negitive comps, so what has Seymour done? This guy Jack Shultz is a complete idiot, he has no respect from the staff at Designs, all he talks about is what happened in retail 25 yrs ago. HEY JACK WELCOME TO YR 2000. Did you all know that Ralph Lauren made Jack's suits specially for him, WOW. Maybe now Bob Hass will make him some jeans, so when he runs his next company into the ground he can talk about that. Everyone of you that Voted to change the board deserve this, I hope Seymour keeps buying shares at 1.50, or he waits for the stock to keep dropping and he buys them then, but either way your screwed. The one person who I hate worse than Jack is Scott Semel, I would love to see him again. He's a little 4 foot high nothing. Someone should tell him that he's too short for this ride, and send him packing.

Is there any truth to the rumor... by: ALLABOUTPROFITS (00/M) 12/02/99 06:59 pm Msg: 930 of 1287 That Jack Shultz calls Scott Semel "Mini Me". If I were Scott I wouldn't take this sitting down, oops, I didn't see that he was standing! Whatever you do Scott stay away from those heighting boots, because they damage your spine, oops, I forgot again you have no spine! If they do throw you out, maybe you can get casted in the traveling show of "The Wizard of Oz", try saying "follow the yellow brick road", because you can never have enough Munchkins in Munchkin land! Now go sue your parents for creating a Dwarf!

Apology by: allboutprofits 07/07/01 08:49 pm Msg: 1287 of 1287 I would like to offer a sincere apology to Seymour Holtzman for maligning him on this message board. I apologize profusely for any pain that was caused by my postings.
In connection with a defamation lawsuit filed against me by Mr. Holtzman, I have paid to Mr. Holtzman an undisclosed sum of money for the damage I have caused. I will not publish defamatory statements on the message boards of any company affiliated with Mr. Holtzman and I will not publish statements on the Internet unless I have first verified the accuracy of my statements. Mr. Holtzman and his colleagues at Designs deserve much credit for the performance of this company after the change in management.
