4:37pm 07/11/01 Yahoo Q2 bests estimates (YHOO) By August Cole
Yahoo reported a second-quarter profit of 1 cent a share and revenue of $182.2 million, besting Wall Street's break-even per-share expectation and the revenue target of $175 million. Last year, the Santa Clara, Calif.-based Internet portal said it earned 11 cents a share during the second quarter when quarterly revenue hit $270 million. Yahoo also held its full year and per-share targets. The company also announced new executives in Asia and Europe. Yahoo (YHOO) shares ended the day down 4.5 percent to $17.03.

Something just occurred to me in taking a quick look thru some of that stuff from the click and clack idiots.

I use a manual transmission, which is incompatible with using a hand held, at least when making turns or other situations where I'm shifting. I find it really hard to believe that hands free kits have "no effect". I'd find statistics claiming that to be suspect, it just defies common sense. Why don't they claim that shifting is dangerous, particularly when making a left turn while they're at it?

I don't live in New York State but I'd just rather have a consistent law than a patchwork of local laws.

You know what they say, most of the roads leading to loss of individual liberties carry the indication "Perfect personal safety for all"!

<<As the author of that article pointed out, it would make as much sense to ban eating
hotdogs. It's a stupid law. >>

The guys who write these laws are sitting in the rear of their chauffered limousines dialing and talking on their cell phones.

The law, if necessary, should read "it is illegal to hold anything in ones hand while driving Both hands must be free to operate the automobile."
Just as crazy.
