Instead of simply sitting here and regurgitating the sound bites of the media, take a look and see for yourself. It is broken out.

Here's a spreadsheet covering 1998 - 2001. Please explain to the thread how lines 11, 12 & 13 do not break out operating income, investment income & investment losses.

Please point out where MSFT lumps investment gains in operating earnings. Maybe the reason people on this thread ignore such statements is because of your mistaken use of terminology.
