What neither side wants to face is that both are right in their claims and both are responsible.
Before deregulation, did opposition to power plant construction because of NIMBY and ecology contribute to the problem? Yes.
Did power generators strongly influence the legislature to get what they wanted in the dereg bill? Not proven, but most likely.
Were the legislators- -Republican and Democrat alike- -venial, greedy idiots to give in? Yes.
After dereg, was Davis a self-serving, power-hungry fool to use the state and its surplus to prevent taxpayer rates from skyrocketing so that he would be re-elected? Yes.
After dereg, did the power generators move to create artificial shortages and jack up prices? Yes.
Are they profit making compamies whose goal is to achieve the position they did and use it to full advantage? Yes.

I intend to vote against all incumbents from either party in the next elections.
