You do know it was Pete Wilson who forced deregulation on California. The timebomb finally went off as soon as the energy companies, who had given tremendous soft money to Bush and Party and badly wanted him to win, colluded in a plan to create an energy crisis midway through the election. As soon as Bush won, not fearing any arm of the government, they conspired to drop the hammer and rip off tens of billions from all consumers and esp. Democratic stronghold California. All with support from Bush/Cheney whose enerny plans require high energy prices in order to scare Americans into letting them pollute our countryside. We need some plants but only to the degree our population grows, minus the degree we can conserve and get more efficient. Also cleaner. So no coal. Bush/Cheney are going to look as guilty as Gary Condit by next year when it's all investigated.
