Fez re: AT&T Bus Svcs, In the wake of the Comcast offer, the WSJ published several topical articles one of which speculated that this put other pieces of T up for grabs. The crown jewel was supposedly Bus Svcs, not for its wonderful technology but for its wonderful, who's-who corporate customer list. What surprised me, however, was the explanation that Bus Svcs and consumer long distance were in fact inseparable. The article stated that there was a single network that Bus Svcs used primarily during the day and which consumer LD used at night and on weekends. If this is so, it would not appear likely that GX would seek out a consumer voice business similar (although not a CLEC) to the one they just sold to CZN in part because it did not fit the GX big picture. GX might agree with the quoted statement of some ILEC guy to the effect that he thought they could take away the Bus Svcs customers anyway.

Re: ATT Business Unit mention in BW.

Wow. You are full of information that I had not heard . . . I would be mildly surprised if GX was the buyer - not to mention how they would pay for it (I have not the foggiest idea how much it would cost anyway). However, I'm just a fiddle player ;-)

By the way, I would rather see GX snipe ATT customers rather than purchase them.
