Faith-based initiatives are political sleight-of-hand. It replaces State-sponsored tribalism with Faith-based tribalism. It still dis-empowers the individual at the expense of an amorphous collective.

Let us not forget that virtually all of GB's proposals would have made him an excellent Democrat in the 1950s, perhaps even 1960s...
