yes, i firmly believe that china is the single most important place to focus on for the next couple decades, whether you are interested in commodities or not. china has been taking steps to upgrade their infrastructure and deregulate their markets as fast as they can. wto entry and the olympics in 2008 are just going to accelerate things, including precious capital flows. the very first thing a country needs to do to have an efficient productive economy is to have a sufficient infrastructure. once you have that in place commerce will accelerate as you can move goods quickly and efficiently. it begins to snowball and will do wonders for the chinese economy, causing a surge in demand as china continues to transform itself from communism to capitalism becoming the most important nation of the 21st century.
