Weren't situations like that in Indonesia and the British pound disasters waiting to happen?

I don't think of the Indonesian economy as a model of transparency and GAAP for example...

When I was in France, I would hear a lot of stuff blaming Soros for things, but it didn't seem that well founded, they tend to have a really anti capitalism slant over there.

OT (I think)

Not to defend Soros and his ilk, but currency hedge funds can only do damage in fertile territory. One look at how Indonesia and Argentina have run their economies would show them to be very fertile ground for currency runs.
