I am glad you agree that the initiative is a bad idea and you are opposed to it. I believe, however, that the idea is an all-around bad one and violates the spirit of the Constitution. I am even more surprised that a Republican would advocate this idea and promote it. I guess it is just another example of how philosophically bankrupt the Republican Party has become... after all, Lincoln's violation of States' Rights and Theodore Roosevelt's undermining of individual rights and liberties were bad enough!

I think a better approach would be to leave the churches and the people alone entirely and to eliminate the IRS entirely. Why do you advocate using the IRS as a tool to try to steer people into doing what someone or some group of people believe is "right?" That is just more economic coercion and a blatant State attempt at behavioral control of individuals again.

Haven't we seen enough of that already? When are the great bulk of the American people finally going to stand up and yell: "Enough of this!"?
