Hydrogen recovery is a by-product of ammonia synthesis in fertilizer factories. The common methods for the recovery are: palladium membrane diffusion, Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA), separation at lowtemperature and hollow fabric membrane osmosis. Considering the technology and its economic value, PSA was the most widely used in the industry.

Mostly thinking here of renewable energy (electricity) to make big tanks of hydrogen. Could be put out in the middle of the ocean or some great lakes. Won't have oil spills thus environmentally pritty sound and inexpensive.
