well, after a long discussion over the weekend with my parents, we have decided on the following.

intc earnings is tues after close, so i will be taking profit on that position either today or tomorrow.

ibm earnings coming out wed after close, so i will be selling dell before then too. because of ibm, i will also be selling 3/4 of my open positions over the next couple days.

1/4 open positions will mostly be my index holders.

------
for my parent's large portfolio our goal is 20% a year. But ideally, 30-40%/yr.

Don; Thanx for the kick back; <OT> This is my first day off after 5 days on..
and likely my only day off until next Monday..
I got a small local job docking a gambling ship ( running the assist Tug )
it's a lunch bucket type job that takes about 3 hrs twice a day..with a 8 hr space
in between. It would have been a push over for me just a year or two ago, but now
I have to rest up a lot between call outs and don't get to watch the market very
much.

My wife is helping out with the garden , I did do some pruning this morning,
the heat down here is stressing out most everything but the Okra and
peppers.
I had the last of the kohlrabi yesterday no more of that until late
fall. Tomatoes are bare right now, but I have more on the way, and maybe
just enough in the frig to hold me over.
My second bunch of string beans is looking OK, my lima beans failed to
produce ?
I will get some water melons but nothing as good as I had hoped for.
My freezer is not full but darn close with mostly corn, squash and collards.
My wife loves corn so I did two stands of it this year, the early one produced the
best.( I had them spaced about a month apart )
Well I need to do some catch up on other chores, I'm going to pass on taking
any positions today for sure, I've Just to much to do and cash looks
best for me short term.
