Oh man, I followed you right up to the concluding paragraph. People who believe are....believers.

"You may choose different things to believe in than Christians, or Jews, or Muslims do. But you are in the same place they are."

We believe in moral rightness, science, etc., and God. Steven is afraid of everything eccept what the incrowd or X validates for him.

"Whether what you believe in is God, or science, or moral rightness, it all starts from your accepting unprovable assumptions and proceeding from there."

Its not a matter of pickin and choosin like the fickle left wing opportunists; who just want to fit in and go along with what ever is popular. Steven does a good job of discribing the rotting fiber of his philosophical foundation. Its basically that he will go along with the trendy and popular; where as believing in anything, or standing on, higher principle is to tough for the poor boy.

So, I agree with Steven that he don't be ble'n nuttin'

He'll drop the trendy crap of the decade as soon as something else that the hip crowd promotes comes along.

This is getting ridiculous, and farther and farther from the point at hand, so perhaps we should get back to the points at hand.

We have some assumptions that are widely accepted because they have been extensively tested for compatibility with the observable laws governing the physical universe. We have other assumptions, frequently wildly incompatible with those laws, which are accepted because somebody said they came from God.

We have some people who believe that we must decide for ourselves what rules are to govern our conduct. Others belive that appropriate rules are revealed to us by people who claim to be in touch with God.

All philosophical writhings aside, if you don't see any difference between these groups, you're not looking.

Please refrain from using terms like "know", "prove", "right", "wrong", etc., because they really have no relevance at all to the question at hand.
