AS: I just heard on the radio today that gas prices are lower by about 10 cents than they were one year ago today (at least in Ohio). Guess the "cartel's" timing is off. Next conspiracy theory please.

Demand has gone down because prices have risen, encouraging conservation. I know some businessmen who are experiencing severe cash flow problems due to rising costs. In San Diego County, there are small shops that have gone under, M. Dumbass. There's your reduced demand. The fact that GDP has dropped to near 0 implies a lger reduction in energy demand as well. Is it your contention that the resolution to our enegy problem is recession? You want me to layoff Clinton who ?ran? the DOE for 8 years while you seek to crucify Bush, who's benn Pres for 6 months? I'm sorry, but that's plain dumb. This didn't start until Bush was in the middle of a tight election then Bush's Energy Cartel came to power. I regard myself as one of the dumbest on SI but even I'm not stupid enough to believe that.
