< What gives?

ASP.>

Absolutely! The difference here seems to be that, I expect the bloodbath to happen on Athlon and P4 ASPs and not Duron ASPs.

Durons compete with Celerons and PIIIs (mostly Celerons) and Athlon competes against P4. Guess where Intel can do more damage to AMD? Is it by aggressive P4 pricing or by aggressive Celeron pricing?

If my memory serves me right, Duron ASPs are already lower than K6-2 ASPs ever were though I can't recall the exact K6-2 ASPs.

Re: Jerry said that "much more than 50%" of CPU sales materialized

It normally would have been 33%+ (seasonal ramping) but there was the addition of the initial pipeline fill for the new mobile lineup. Hard to imagine how it could be anything but a larger than earlier month.

And AMD's move into the mobile sector has been astonishing in its speed.
