Charles,

AMD model for Q3;

Here are my numbers, welcom comments back:

Flash $200M

CPU: 4M durons at $40 each $160M
3.5M Athlons at $90 each $315M
0.5M A4 mobiles at $120 each $60M

Misc $50M

Total = $785M

Breakeven at $830M

Loss of $45M

I can see them shipping as many as 9M units in Q4 and then getting breakeven if laptops do better than i expect.

Regards,

Kash

" I expect the bloodbath to happen on Athlon and P4 ASPs and not Duron ASPs."

If that analyst's estimate of OEM prices of $100 for both AMD's and Intel's 1.4GHz processors is accurate, it is already happening. Assuming that prices scale, that makes Intel's 1.7GHz price to OEMs at less than $200. This might explain why 1.8GHz P4s are scarce, if Intel is trying to hold their price, it is not an attractive product at all...
