Cats, spiders, turbot (a fish) and mosquitoes are obligate carnivores and cannot synthesize necessary nutrients as can humans and dogs, for example.

As far as ethics go, I think the issue more properly is gluttony....for humans. Ethics is a two way street that involves human interaction. What are the ethics of animals? If a lion wanted me for dinner should I defer to his "ethics?" JUSt muSING!;)

I do however find it strange that ANY ethical veg*n could possibly support abortion.

Very strange indeeed.

Of course ethical veg*ns have made an illogical and foolish choice in the first place.

. I do get tired of the sort of zealous evangelism that so many vegetarians employ.

Minor compared to the zealous actions of abortion foes.

"I'm not a vegetarian because I hate meat. I'm a vegetarian because I hate plants."

I love that quip. :)
