Cats, spiders, turbot (a fish) and mosquitoes are obligate carnivores and cannot synthesize necessary nutrients as can humans and dogs, for example. As far as ethics go, I think the issue more properly is gluttony....for humans. Ethics is a two way street that involves human interaction. What are the ethics of animals? If a lion wanted me for dinner should I defer to his "ethics?" JUSt muSING!;)

I do however find it strange that ANY ethical vegn could possibly support abortion. Very strange indeeed. Of course ethical vegns have made an illogical and foolish choice in the first place. regards, cAPSLOCK worth repeating
