The line, "I can't help wondering whether they were using stops during the down weeks," goes here:

Whether it takes weeks or months or years, they'll wind up being right, because eventually the market will go back up. I can't help wondering whether they were using stops during the down weeks.

(The bears didn't have to use stops in down weeks, of course. Or maybe they did. Maybe they were secretly long.) Missed it in the Edit window.

Oh, and that's the Niagara River. Was too busy watching the close. I meant to say that I'm charting my way up the Niagara River in a barrel, and things are looking good. The trick is to concentrate on the oars and the barrel and not pay any attention to the river. Ooops, we're heading back downstream a bit here. What's that noise?

I was only referring to your comparison of the Vix and the Dow last year to now. The difference is that the
Dow was near a HIGH last year when the Vix was LOW. Not so this time. Unless you feel that this is a HIGH
for the Dow.
