I applied in May 1999.I got InterviewEd in July 2000 pass the history test. The INS officer after that asked me how many times have I been married. I said once. Then he asked are you still married? I said no. He asked for divorce papers, and I gave him a copy. Then he said he was going to be back in two minutes.He comes back and tells me:Taki I got bad news for you.I said bad news why? He said when you applied you were Married, and now you got divorce in March 2000. Because when you filed your ex marked box b instead of box A= I have been married for three years to an American citizen and still been married to the american citizen. Had she marked box A= have been here for 5 years you would have been fine. I almost droped my head on his desk. I said Sir:What box A and box B? This should not apply to me, because I have been here for 14 years.Not 3 or five box A box B what ever. He said I know your point, but still no exceptions.You have to reapply and wait another year and a half. I said Sir For one wrong marked box by my ex, i have to wait another year and a half? He said that's right, and there is nothing I can do. Left the place lost and in tears. Could not believe it. I got home and very fast called the U.S of my area. I told her the fact.She could not believe it. She Wrote them a letter in July 2000, and heared from them in Sept.with the I have to reapply.I called her again. She wrote them another very serious letter, that it was not fair what they did to me. A respond came back in November. Okay We decided to reopen the application of Takis and reversed our decision, but he has to redue the finger printing again. Got another letter from them in December for the finger printing.I went did it. Ther rep told me by March they should call me for the oath. May 2001 and nothing. Have a serious Girlfriend since November 2000 from Seattle where I am now, while all this time I fly back and forth SPENDING FORTUNE ON tHE RENT IN CHICAGO AND BILLS, UNTIL I GET THE CITIZENSHIP. sHE IS VERY UPSET WITH ALL THIS, AND OUR LIFE IS STALL WAITING FOR THE INS WHEN TO DECIDE OUR FUTURE. hAD IT BE DONE i WOULD HAVE BEEN IN sEATTLE NOW WITH HER START A BUSINESS GOING OR SOMETHING AND GO ON WITH OUR LIVES. BUT THE OPERA CONTINUES AND ME SPENDING FORTUNE, BY HAVING RESIDENCY IN cHICAGO, BECAUSE IF I MOVE I WILL HAVE TO EITHER DO THE PAPERS AGAIN FROM SEATTLE OR HAVE THEM SEND THEM TO sEATTLE AND WAIT WHO KNOWS HOW LONG. oNE INS OFFICER TOLD ME DO NOT MOVE UNLESS YOU GET THE CITIZENSHIP FIRST HERE, THAT YOUR PAPERS ARE IN CHICAGO ALREADY. aNYWAY mARCH 2001 CAME AND NOTHING. SO IN MAY cALLED BACK THE REP AGAIN.SHE SAID YOU DID NOT HEAR FROM THEM YET?I SAID NO. SHE CALLS THEM BACK TO SET ME A DATE FOR THE OATH, AND GETS BACK TO ME WITH THIS ANSWER: SORRY TAKI, BUT THE PERSON THAT LOOKED IN TO IT SAID TO ME THAT YOUR FILE HAS NOT EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT.I SAID GREAT.NOW WHAT? SHE SAID I FEEL FOR YOU AND WILL TRY TO GET YOU A DATE FOR THE OATH.I WISH. SHE GET'S BACK TO ME WITH MORE SET BACK NEWS. GET'S ME THE DATE INSTEAD FOR THE OATH I HAVE TO DO THE WHOILE INTERVIEW AGAIN AND THEN THE OATH.= THE TEST OF THE AMERICAN HISTORY AGAIN, PASS THE INTERVIEW, AND THEN WAIT ANOTHER 3 TO 5 MONTHS FOR THE OATH=I WILL BE OUT OF CASH IN THE STREETS AT THIS RATE. ANYWAY I ASKED HER:HOW MANY TIME DO I HAVE TO PASS THE AMERICAN HISTORY TEST, AND THE INTERVIEW? SHE SAID LET ME CALL THEM AGAIN AND TRY NO TO HAVE YOU PASS THE HISTORY TEST JUST THE INTERVIEW.SO SHE DID, AND GOT ME ANOTHER DATE INTERVIEW IN A TWO WEEKS FROM NOW. sHE SAID IN ALL THESE YEARS SHE WORKS THERE NEVER HAD A CASE LIKE MINE.IT IS VERY UNFAIR SHE SAID. ANYWAY THE APPLICATION FOR ME COST ME $250 BUT TO FLY BACK AND FORTH FROM SEATTLE, AND PAY RENT IN CHICAGO AND BILLS CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW MANY THOUSANDS. aS FOR MY GIRLFRIEND SHE IS PISSED OFF WITH ALL THIS, AND SHE IS COMING WITH ME FOR THE NEXT INTERVIEW, AND THEN TO VISIT THE REP TOGETHER, INCASE MORE B SHOWS UP. I ALSO WAS TOLD TO GET AN IMMIGRATION LAWYER. I CALLED ONE IN APRIL, AND TOLD HIM THE STORY. HE IS DOING THIS FOR OVER 40 YEARS. HE SAID DO NOT TELL ME MORE, AND HERE IS YOUR ANSWER TAKI:YOU JUST GOT SHAFTED BIG TIME. HAVE THAT REP OF YOURS KEEP CALLING THEM. YOUR DENIAL OF YOUR APPLICATION IS RIDICULOUS. sTILL GOING ON THE OPERA AND I WILL KEEP YOU UPDATED. yOU CAN NOT BELIEVE HOW MUCH STRESS THIS HAVE GIVING ME.
