What does being Democrat have to do with it? As someone who used to live in Condit's region, I can tell you that his voting record was opportunistic and more often than not represented a conservative stance - hence his "blue dog" status. If anything, as the son of a minister, he was more of your stereo-typical Republican than Democrat.

Guilt by association is a dangerous game to play.
