But it's not the only answer, nor necessarily the right answer.

It is the present understanding for many people. I have said it many times. Certainly, it is a difficult needle to spin on--especially for the person who is using her body to feed and grow a sperm/egg mating.

This issue is fraught with potentially dangerous consequences. Any movement to the idea that human rights does rest on some arbitrary potential--rather than the idea that a "potential" person cannot assume "RIGHTS", not while yet claiming an ABSOLUTE dependence on another for life--well, this would be an incredible shift in perception. But who knows how technology might change the world?
