Just because something is an institution it should not "command" automatic respect. You must observe what that institution is doing and what effect it is having upon individual rights. Liberal's agenda is to gain collective control. You seem blind to that. You ARE blind to the real battle being fought. You do not seem to understand that a need -- whether it be an individual's, a community's or a nation's -- cannot undermine inalienable rights in a truly free society with laws in place to protect real rights as defined in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Quick example: the illegal internment of Japanese-Americans and confiscation of their property. Totally illegal move by the U.S. Government thumbing its nose at the principles it was supposedly fighting the Axis powers over. You just don't get it Neo. Guess that's why you are a Neo... Conservatives have respect for institutions, customs, and ancestral wisdom. Liberals want to reorganize everything to get to what they consider a good result. The timeworn battle is between those who understand that people need to balance community and liberty, and those who think that they can ignore one pole of the problem...
