Personal request: In the future could you warn me that you've redirected me to the RWET. It's a lot like jumping into the first cleaning tank of a sewage treatment plant. Thanks.

Cheap and unjustified shot. You should be above that sort of thing. JLA

Think of it as expanding your intellectual horizons. :-)

Perhaps you've assessed the source of the author's opinion?
No. I was hoping you, being over there, could provide enlightenment. I do remember seeing something about this several weeks back.

What's the comparative data of quality of life in Sweden between that of the US?
At 57%? I DON'T CARE!

31% vs. 50%? It may be the difference between average rate and tax rate on the top dollar. Actually, if you're in the top federal bracket and in CA and include sales tax, the rate is more like 60%.

P.S. In the US don't we have twelve average John and Jane Does decide whether someone deserves to live. The
inalienable right to life....not quite sure what inalienable means.

How about: You don't end up in that position for doing nothing.
Tim McVeigh? Fry 'im.
I'd list others, but I don't know how many you'd recognize since you're no longer an American. :-)

P.P.S. Doctor assisted suicide is an ugly, ugly problem. Having spent the last couple of weeks of life with someone that wasted away to a skeleton and suffered from excruciating pain with terminal cancer; barely able to communicate the simple request to end it all. I have difficulty in dealing with the notion that doctor assisted suicide is always wrong.
I've been there. With good, solid safeguards and multiple people involved in approval, I have no problem with this.
