Microsoft (MSFT) 72.57 +2.00: -- Update -- The $0.01 EPS was precisely in line with company's July 11 guidance, in which MSFT stated that EPS including non-cash investment charge would be $0.01.

Macromedia (MACR) 16.91 +0.19: Posts Q1 pro forma loss of $0.15 a share, $0.02 better than consensus, vs yr-ago net of $0.33; revenues declined 1.8% to $88.7 mln (consensus )$86 mln). Company expects revenues for Q2 to be flat to down 10% sequentially (consensus for a 4.3% increase); expects a return to profitability this fiscal year.

Microsoft (MSFT) 72.57 +2.00: -- Update -- Though company guided Sep qtr lower, guidance for the coming year is close to estimates: sees FY02 (Jun) revenues of $28.8-29.5 bln vs Multex consensus of $28.8 bln; EPS of $1.91-1.95 vs consensus of $1.95.

Atmel Corp (ATML) 10.02 +0.45: Company reports Q2 results of break even, in line with consensus ests; Q2 revs reported at $367 mln vs. consensus est of $367.2 mln; "based on information available to us today, we believe that our business should bottom out in the third quarter, with a return to growth thereafter."

THQ Inc (THQI) 54.92 -1.96: Reports Q2 earnings of $0.15 a share, $0.02 better than consensus, vs a yr-ago loss of $0.14; revenues increased 70% to $55.2 mln (consensus $49.2 mln). Company sees 2001 earnings of $1.38-$1.47 (consensus $1.43).

TriQuint Semi (TQNT) 21.82 +1.19: Company reports June quarter earnings of $0.03 per share, in line with consensus ests; reports revs for the quarter of $60.7 mln vs. consensus est of $60.4 mln; Sawtek (SAWS) became a wholly owned subsidiary of TQNT on July 19, 2001; SAWS reports June quarter earnings of $0.06 per share, one penny worse than consensus; reports revs of $18.8 mln vs. consensus of $17.6 mln.

Vitesse Semi (VTSS) 18.67 +1.69: Reports Q3 loss of $0.06 a share, in line with the First Call consensus of ($0.06), vs year-ago earnings of $0.17; revenues fell 47.3% to $60.14 mln from a year-ago of $114.09 mln. No guidance offered, but company says that "inventories in our customers' channels remain at high levels and the process of reducing excess inventories is taking much longer than anticipated."

Scientific-Atlanta (SFA) 35.08 -0.56: Reports Q4 earnings of $0.48 a share, $0.01 better than the First Call consensus of $0.47, vs year-ago earnings of $0.35; revenues rose 12.1% to $619.60 mln from a year-ago of $552.60 mln; bookings fell 21% year/year to $507.0 mln.

Illuminet Holdings (ILUM) 27.95 +0.54: Reports Q2 earnings of $0.29 a share, $0.02 better than consensus, vs yr-ago EPS of $0.12; revenues increased 30% to $47.2 mln (Multex consensus $45 mln). ILUM remains comfortable with Q3 consensus estimate of $0.28; sees full yr revenue growth of 23%-25%. Company says it has had "limited exposure to the challenges facing certain segments of the telecom market."

IDEC Pharm (IDPH) 51.60 -1.17: Reports Q2 earnings of $0.15 a share, in line with the First Call consensus of $0.15, vs year-ago earnings of $0.09; revenues rose to $64.8 mln from $39.0 mln year-ago; $58.1 mln of revenues were from company's joint arrangement with Genentech (DNA) for the sale of Rituxan.

PMC-Sierra (PMCS) 31.30 +2.30: Company reports Q2 net loss of $0.08 per share, in line with consensus; reports Q4 revs of $94.1 mln vs. consensus of $93.2 mln; "current revenue trends are a direct result of inventory build up in the supply chain but data points indicate that inventory is burning off at our customers and the contract manufacturers".

Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 14.44 +0.45: -- Update -- Company does not provide guidance for Sep qtr, but reports that orders were $3.65 bln in the June qtr vs revenues of $4.00 bln.

Citrix Systems (CTXS) 32.47 -0.59: Company reports Q2 net of $0.19 a share, $0.02 better than consensus, vs yr-ago EPS of $0.10; revenues increased 39% to $147.3 mln (Multex consensus $144.4 mln).

JDA Software (JDAS) 16.61 +0.69: Reports Q2 earnings of $0.12 a share, $0.01 better than the First Call consensus of $0.11, vs year-ago earnings of $0.20; revenues rose 6.4% to $49.05 mln from a year-ago of $46.10 mln.

Sun Microsystems (SUNW) 14.44 +0.45: Company reports Q4 earnings of $0.04 per share ex items, one penny better than consensus; Q4 revs reported at $4.0 bln vs. consensus of $3.9 bln. Details to follow.
