Tony - The volume of AthWiper System horror stories continues to mount.

The AMDroids keep dismissing them as "owner difficulties".

I think the reality is that the AThWiper and various support chips are riddled with incompatabilities.

The fact remains, large OEMS have yet to endorse this platform for business use.

And the longer this continues, the worse will be AMD's fortunes.

Re: here's a little FUD for you, as just a small token in return for all your anti-Intel FUD

Thanks, Tony.

:-)

It's probably a bad chip, a bad, motherboard, a bad DIMM, or a bad Power Supply.

One of our Gateway's went through 3 set of PIIIs, motherboard, and DIMMS before it stopped locking up.

On both the first and second set of Intel chip/Intel chipset motherboard/DIMMs the machine would get into windows, for at least a few seconds (sometimes several hours) before it locked up or blue screened.

You can get a bad part from anyone, or the parts can be damaged in shipping.

And Athlons have power supply and cooling requirements nearly as tough to accommodate as P4's.

Regards,

Dan

Tony - I was watching the British Open a few minutes ago and on National Television (ABC) I saw my first Pentium XEON commercial - from Unisys - touting their 32-way SMP Intel Pentium /// Xeon system.

That is pretty good exposure - I'd say !
