Hi Katherine,

Consider yourself fortunate.Cable Modems and high speed internet is available for the first time in our neighborhood this month.Dsl is not available as it is too far from the central connection.

I live in The Woodlands, which has deed restrictions regarding no poles(every thing must be buried )- it is pretty but it has been a long wait.

I agree that Joe Public, for the most part, doesn't care about high speed internet. Most use the internet to send email which doesn't require high speed. True, there are maybe 20% of us who use it for much more than that but for the average Joe Six Pack with AOL at 56.6Kbs, it's fine.
