CHERRY PIE CRUNCH

I had to put it up here, or I would be ignoring my own suggestion.

Okay tried it, and it is sinfully rich and delicious, and here is the best part, easy!

CHERRY PIE CRUNCH

Crust:

2 C flour
1 C chopped pecans
2 sticks butter

Filling:

1 [8-oz] package cream cheese
1 box confectioners' sugar
2 16 oz ctn. Cool Whip
2 cans cherry pie filling*

Combine flour, pecans and butter. Press into 9x13 inch over dish. Bake in 350 oven until golden brown [approximately 30 minutes].

Cool crust

Whip cream cheese and beat in sugar; add 1 1/2 carton Cool Whip. Pour over cooled crust, then pour the cherry pie filling on top and put remainder of Cool Whip over all.

Refrigerate. I refrigerated mine over night, and it took that long to firm it up.

It serves 8 to 12 depending on the size of the portions you want... It is very rich, so I would say 12...

You may sprinkle nuts on top for garnish.

* Really any fruit filling would be fine, this recipe just happened to call for cherry filling, so that is what I used.

There, spoiled sausage king, now are you happy?
