Do you understand what a Ponzi scheme is? From your assertion that the stock market is a ponzi scheme, I would say not.

No, I will probably not accept my SSI. Not that it matters much, since it will probably be 50 years before I'm even eligible, at the rate at which the eligible age creeps up. As to whether or not I invest and am well off, that's my business and no one elses.

My parents would be much better off if they would have been allowed to keep their payroll taxes and invest it themselves. As it is, they've made enough prudent investments that they will be comfortable enough without the measley handout they will recieve from SSI. They won't be as comfortable as most here on SI, but not bad for working class folks.
