Adam and Eve incorporated the possibility of their own death when they ate the forbidden fruit in order to learn. It was the serpent who spoke the Truth and exposed God as a liar when he said: "You will not die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."
For ease of keeping track of my replies, and asking your forebearance, I will deal with this portion in this reply and your generous reprinting of your paper in future replies.
For starters, Adam and Eve DID die...for at that point, they were already made in God's image,
and WERE eternally alive spirits:
So, when they "ate" of the fruit of "knowledge of good and evil" they DID DIE!!!
My proof? The God of that story is still very much alive and kicking.
And last I heard,
no one has seen or heard of Adamo's whereabouts for thousands of years.
So, which one "died?" Adamo's and helpmate Ev, well, the date of their death was immediately incorporated into their lifestream as of that single disobedient, ill-advised, constrictive activity, regardless of whether their execution occured on that exact same day.
(P.S....if we are to be consistent, then the interpretation of the word "day" cannot be anymore literally translated into a 24 hour period than we can logically assign the 1-3 days of creation a 24 hour stricture due to the fact the sun hadn't been created as I recall.)
Secondly, you got your exposed as a "liar" all mixed up it appears.
Since the proof is in the pudding, i.e., the God of the Myth is still alive and well and Adam isn't.
The "serpent" is a deceiver, using what appears as truth, in this case the gloriousness of possessing knowledge of both good AND evil as the great deception, the great lie.
I possess knowledge of Columbine High, Jeffery Damler, OKC bombing, asassinations of Sadat, concentration camps of Dachow, high crimes of treason by Milosevic, Hitler and Clinton, the Somalian massacres, and the Eritrea famines, Hiroshima, Jim Jone's cyanide kool-aid, etc., and fail to see how knowledge of any or all has increased my "life" or ANYONE's for that matter, one single jot or tittle throughout the pages of time.
In fact, I can personally and passionately attest to the fact that a little of the TRUE me died as well as permanently recoiled from living life fully upon receiving the "KNOWLEDGE" of evil's presence and practices among the living.
And I certainly expand, live life more fully and vibrantly with the knowledge of the Mother Theresa's, the courage
of the Wilma Parks, the non-violence promulgated by Ghandi, the "dream state of MLK," the cancer conquering of that now famous Bicycler, the tenderhearted fireman who cradled the lifeless body of a child he pulled from the OKC Murra Bldg bomb wreckage, and countless courageous acts of those in military service of our land and those of freedom of choice wars fought before me, and likely to be fought again after my transistioning.
And, my friend, if the purpose of LIVING is to LIVE it fully, then pursuit of knowledge available from studying the horrors and following after the footsteps of the deceived and the walking damned is NOT expansive enough to fit my definition of the "meaning of life," let alone try to justify its existance, nor devote one constrictive minute to try to understand its physiology nor sociology. Not this old bird!!! No, Sireeee!
Therefore, I thoughtfully and deliberately reject your conclusion that the Expansive, Creative Living Spirit called God in the Adamo story is "liar" when that spirit infact IS the TRUTH TELLER and LIFE GIVER, expansionist of Eden as well as today.
In fact, if it were not so ...
if it were NOT true that Creative outlives and outlasts
.... the deceptive and the restrictive knowledge that comes from learning of evil
.....and its unalterable consequences of constriction and destruction,
then why does TRUTH, CREATIVITY, KNOWLEDGE, LEARNING AND WISDOM benefits reaped on the "expansive side of the ledger" so far out number the reality of the evil, even to this day, and trump all challengers?
Evil living, and the "knowledge, wisdom and learning niggardly garnered from said constrictive practices" has not added a single day, corpuscle, nor inhaled breath to the collective, corporate nor individual expansion which, thankfully outnumbers said evil by many MANY percentage points in both probability as well as experience!!!!
No, Rarebird, the serpent was truly the liar and the Spirit was truly the life-giver and sustainer of life! And Adamo's mute exit from this earthly plane is screaming proof of this.
And to bring this all back to topic...
This is another reason why I chose NOT to rail against the POG du jour...that is restrictive and destructive to me and does not add one jot nor one tittle to either the living around me nor help me creatively deal with the pragmatic fact of the POG on ANY given day which enhances my life and my profitability and my accumulation goals.
