New Itanium article at Ace's Hardware

aceshardware.com

They present a bunch of benchmarks showing that Itanium is mediocre, at best, then conclude it's fabulous - go figure.

Jim, No actually you're missing the point still. Megahertz isn't selling these days.
Anyone can put what ever price they want on their product, but if there's no demand then they won't sell it.

The higher Gigahertz parts are NOT getting (actually selling) the higher prices. In truth the LOWER MHz parts(PIII) are getting higher prices. Plus they(PIII) were in much greater demand than the P4s in Q2 2001.
>>but the higher Mhz ones still get the higher prices.<<

Better position to do what? To obliterate prices because you're in the superior position?
>>When you have the higher Mhz you hold the cards. You are in the better position...<<

Megahertz sold - Gigahurtz don't

By the way what does "Megahertz Sells" mean anyways?? The meaning seems to have mutated somewhat recently ;-0
