I will add that in addition to what he said about MSFT and it's weighting, QCOM also seems to be starting a downward move and it is ranked in the top 3 or 4 and will drag down the NDX also. Just something to keep in mind. On the possible bullish side ( or more bearish) I believe they report earnings later this week. I will have to double check but Thursday seems to be stuck in my mind. The OSX stopped right at the resistance I mentioned this weekend from my lower fork tine. Break out or Break down? SHort term stochastics lean toward it not getting over the line on this first try. VIX also appears to be forming a bullish flag off this last push up and then the sideways action of the last week or so. This too hints bearish. If 1975 fails on the NASDAQ then we should drop another 75 to the 1900 suport area. EMC ADX is implying the downward move there may be ending soon. We will have to watch this coming bounce for signs of strength. If strong, then tag along for the ride, if it is weak, it could make a nice short entry. I am still on guard and waiting for a clear trend before doing any major positioning. S&P GLOBEX triggers slightly bearish for about 3 1/2 points. A plus 2 reading on GLOBEX is still a sell. Candlestick question for ya We had a bearish engulfing pattern today on the Naz Comp My question is this: This would have to turn into a last engulfing pattern in order to jive with your pending buy signals - would it not? I know that we must close higher tomorrow to get confirmation of a last engulfing pattern but what is the strength of such a signal? TIA Martin
