I don't know sounds very much like the idea of social security. Ponzi only cheated people but did not make him invest in his scheme. The government forces us to invest in social security and for years relied on an ever expanding population (investors) to fund it. What exactly is the government going to do as those on social security equal or exceed the number who are paying and we find out that the so called trust fund is just money we owe and may not be able to collect?

Ponzi was an honest man compared to the Congress.

Sounds very much like SSI. Reliance on another generational level, larger than the one before, in order to pay the benefits of the layer above it, with the hope that an equally larger layer will, in the future, pay their benefits.

Its a Ponzi scheme.
