<Well, the spinco thing is not that big of a deal, but Rick leaving is.>

Rich was the POC with the analyst community. I don't think Tony as the CFO/COO can be as forthcoming as Rich was. The bright side is with the new disclosure rules in place it may not make the big of difference.

Sulpezio was very in-your-face, and it seemed that the company needed that as a counterweight to Dr. IJ's public reserve and graciousness. Sulpezio gave great presentation to the analysts.

Still, I think the market's reaction to Sulpezio's deparature is way overdone. An investment in this company really comes down to whether you believe is has a lock on the essential technology for CDMA. The rest is mousenuts (i.e., really important to the mouse but no one else) or noise.

Who remembers James Towne's stewardship at MSFT? After he left in 1983, that company did okay. Did fine after Jon Shirley left. Did fine after Michael Hallman left. Not much changed after Pete Higgins left and they junked the "Office of the President" thing. (For the ggamers on the thread, what does it take to screw up a gorilla/i.e. it is not all about execution?)

DK enough about Paul Jacobs. I hope he turns out to be like Henry Ford II.

I wish sulpezio well and hope he (1) lands somewhere with Steve Ballmer (the fireworks would be entertaining) and/or (2) leads a company in QCOM's value chain.
