William, putting America first should, of course be our main priority, but there needs to be a sensitivity to others is our efforts to serve our needs. The US is clearly in the global leadership chair. We won't remain in that capacity by taking a world be dammed attitude.

I agree with your assesment of the Kyoto treaty, but we are missing an opportunity. It doesn't help our worldy standing when we not only reject international negotiations, but we take backward steps in our own backyard (referring to our return to coal as an energy source).

At a time when we need to increase our exports and lower the dollar, it seems like we are doing our best to limit our access to trade partners.

We've long ignored the potential that Latin America offers. It seems likely that the Euro partners will reap the fruit on our backyard before we notice what we're missing. East Asia is moving in the direction of forming its own free trade zone with strings to China's economic growth. Generally, alliances being formed by WTO negotiations do not include the US.

We're going to need to find partners in the global marketplace in order for our economy to grow.
