JDSU has 1.1B shares outstanding. Their $1.5B in cash is ~$1.40/share. Next quarters sales annualized, $1.8B is ~$1.60/share.

Any arguement to purchase must be supported by revenue forecasts and valuation forecasts.

Will $450M be the quarterly low or could it go to $250M?

What will the 5 and 10 year revenue growth be? What level will it start from? What PE or P/S will this growth merit.

Qualitative descriptions of company strengths show why we are interested, but qualitative models are necessary to start talking about purchase prices.

Fallope, ERP_tech123 is already down ~3% in 24 hours on his purchase!

" Changed short term sentiment from “Sell” to “Buy”. Purchased JDSU at $9.05.".

My question is this: At this rate of investment dollare loss,
how much can one loose in 12 - 18 months?

" Trough values in the $7-$9 "

That's not too bad is it? <bg>.

From $9 to $7 is o n l y $2 loss, i.e. only ~ 30% loss.

" Expected 12 to 18 months to recover. How much of a recovery is unknown "

<bg>

Maybe we ought to load up on Maalox before buying JDSU?

" To own this stock you better have a strong stomach."
