so he does not represent the majority of the people in this country

Neither did Clinton. Also Gore would not have represented a majority had he won the presidency.

Tim, more people voted for Gore than for Bush and more voted for Clinton than his opponents. I feel a lot more comfortable with a representative who got the most votes making a stand for me than one who did not.....your concern with semantics not withstanding.

especially when you consider what went on with the election in Fl.

What went on in FL was atleast as distorted in Gore's favor as it was in Bush's.

What makes you say that? The evidence is to the contrary...it shows that there was much more tampering with the Dems. vote than visa versa. The major issue of propriety raised by Reps. is the way the Dems in P.B. County were treating the dimples et al. That all occurred after the original election and after the first vote count which is what I am referring to above.

A lot of the ambigious votes were decided by Democratic local election officals. Yes there would be atleast one Republican present but his or her objections would not have stopped the vote from counting.

A lot of ambiguous votes were found after FL was required to do a recount. It looks very much like vote counters in Rep. counties bent over backwards to favor Bush.
After the first recount, however, the number of pro Bush votes dropped considerably....that's why the race became so tight.
