The idea is to burn the carbon in a power-station and then bury the carbon dioxide and use the hydrogen as a fuel for cars and other fuel cells. If you just use the hydrogen you'll probably throw away most of the available energy.

Maybe we could hide the CO2 in nanotubes <g>
